I want one too. Let me know how it makes it sound.

They're great, but make sure you get a catback exhaust to go with it.

Gas mileage sucks for the first few weeks since it's hard to keep your foot out of it, too.

becaue you like it so much or because it is so touchy???

...Because of the throttle response and the roar of the motor...:D

cool you guys just made me even more excited:D. it comes in thursday!!!!!!

The KKM intake is nice; helps on mileage too. It does get hot though (be nice to fab some kind of enclosure over it and cut a hole in the wheel well so it could pull from straight outside). But does fine, nevertheless, hot air or no at low speeds.

I never ran across the KKM in the 1990's but was certainly looking for something like it back then. Settled for cutting out the lower right side of the airbox and using a K&N panel filter.

...As mentioned, the KKM paired up with a good exhaust system and a flowmaster muffler...:burnout:

...My exhaust and such are in my pics and mod's list...Having no inner fender lining and a big lift let's me draw plenty of air...:D

nice. i am planning on getting a new exhauste system sometime near...:salute:

um is it pretty basic to install? i mean not because i couldnt do it anyways. i have rebuilt trannys and all that stuff but like just becuz im curious!?!?!?

...Probably 20-30 minutes tops...Real basic to install...

sweet!:D

you'll like the sound under heavy throttle.

I like the increase in power, which I noticed immediately the first time I floored it. But what was really nice was the increase in cruise power at highway speeds. I often have to travel on I-44 to St. Louis, and there are a lot of long hills along the way. Before the KKM, on cruise control, the speed would start dropping as I climbed the hill, to the point where I would have to hit the accelerator pedal to get the tranny to kick down out of OD just to maintain speed, which was a hassle. After the KKM was installed, my truck is now able to climb most hills and stay in OD. I like that feature.:us:

well i got it earlier this afternoon and now put it on:D its pretty sweet:D

...Cool...:D

.....How long did it take you for the install????

....Wait a minute, you are probably already out test driving it...:burnout:

ok i just got back. i will tell you what a dif for sure. oh i had the old stock one out last night so it took my maybe 10 mins. wow i like it... now i need to get it lifted get new tires finish my custom bumpers and bam! i will be out there with you guys! thanks

i just made my own. $20 cone filter, and $7 cone filter adapter from advanced auto. the bolt spacing on the adapter wasnt the same for our MAF, so i just redrilled them on the adapter. looks EXACTLY like the kkm set up, for 1/3rd the price.

for me, i really didnt notice any real horsepower gains at all, but the sound screams! lol. i also found a explorer in a local yard that had a factory like plastic heat shield on the stock air box, and modded it to help keep the heat away from my cone filter. im sure its not perfect, but it has to help some.

where can i find the kkm? i tried a search but couldnt come up with anything
