ok so i had this thing in for a while now and it just wont stay down, the screw wont stay in. Its keep coming up and make a bad rattling noise under my hood (at least thats what i think it is) i dont know how to keep it tight i tried putting rags under it but no work, now when i had to drill a hole to keep it down. was there suppose to be like a black plastic thing under it , from where i took the stock box off????

there should have been a small bracket that attached the maf adapter plate to the fender well

yea i have that but i have it connected to the bottom part , like where air filter sits on, its like a black piece of plastic where the stock box was on , is that wrong???

I drilled into the body(metal) if you didnt thats probably what you want to do

you remove the whole airbox... the filter isnt supposed to be sitting in the lower half of the stock airbox...

its not , i did remove the whole box, but underneath the box was a black piece of plastic, this is where i drilled my hole to hold up the filter.

I ran mine off of the side of the filter bracket and screwed it in to a screw holding a wire harness or something off of the front of the vehicle behind the radiator. It works decent.

Hey Silver, I did the same thing on mine. That was years ago without a problem. The only thing I might have done different. Lock-tite. I'm a lock-tite freak. :)

I have mine mounted this way. Never had a problem. Maybe try a little hole with a big screw?

If the screw won't stay in the hole then use a bolt, a nut and a washer.

This is how I mounted mine. It was so hard to use any of the existing holes, that that is where I had to mount mine so I could get access to it. I believe the instructions do say to mount it to the radiator bulkhead. I've had to retighten mine several times, and even once had one of the bolts mounting it to the MAFS almost come out. Locktight sounds like a good idea all around. Probably some of the non-hardening kind. (Is that red?)

Edit: I can't seem to get the picture working, let me try the big version temporarily.

I made my own plate, but its basically a KKM. I don't have anything holding mine down and I haven't heard a thing, maybe I should get my ears checked.
