Has anyone tried the KKM - TRUE-REV SPORT INDUCTION KIT in there explorer? If so, do they really perform like they say? Is it worth the $90?

Ok, Thanks

I have a 91 sport

NickB,
I just installed the KKM Induction Kit last night on my 97 XLT w/ 4.0 SOHC. It took about 30 minutes, very easy. To early to verify gas milage or hp, but is sounds great and has a much better response under heavy throttle. Worth the $90!

Nick-Have you tried the airbox modification yet? It'll cost you nothing but your time and the results are very good. Try it if you haven't yet and if you don't think its that great, you can always shell out the $90 for a KKM tru-rev kit. The airbox mod will work well if you have a K&N filter. I know this set up works well on my '91XLT.

I put the KKM on my 2000 XLT last night. It was a breeze to install (took about 20 minutes). I thought it would be loud, but I can't really hear any difference between the KKM and the stock set up. I like the fact that I can easily switch back to the stock set up if I needed to.

I have read some posts that state that the KKM may actually reduce performance during the hot summer months. I am not very mechanically inclined, and cannot verify or refute that claim, but it may be something for you to think about.

With that said, I am very happy with the KKM and I would recommend it.

Hi Nick
I fitted a kkm to my 96xlt sohc auto about 18 months ago and washed it three times.
To me it did very little to about 2500rpm then it takes off with a big improvment over stock.

Tanks for the posts. I think that i might try it on my 91 sport. Yeah, thanks

i had the kkm on my 94 eb for about 3 months and i wasnt very impressed with the gains..then i came across a k&n filtercharger for free (we wont mention how) hehehehehe!!! a/w i put it on and was much MUCH more impressed with it. i could feel a definite improvement in acceleration and a few extra horses never hurt anybody!!

I've had my KKM induction on my 93 Sport for about 8 months now and I love it. I wish I had put it on long beforehand. It is worth the money just for the deep throaty sound it provides under hard throttle, not to mention a noticible kick in the seat of the pants. Highly Recommended!

I Installed the KKM air filter in my 94 4dr auto,Explorer last week.It was not too hard to do,just a tight fit in place of the old air box area.
The results were immediately noticed.Nice intake growl and better acceleration.

Hey Pudge, whats the difference between the K&N and the KKM? Also does the K&N come with a plastic box to isolate the filter from the hot air around the engine? Thanks for the info.
