I read a post on this a while back. Everything said is correct about the K&N and the KKM. K&N pays to have thier system emissions legal, which in turn gets passed on to the consumer. KKM has practically the same filter, I might say even a better filter, but it is cheaper because it is not emissions legal. Swaping the OEM airbox is not that hard, and to me is worth the savings in money to only have to do it once every 2 years.

you haven't met my garage, though... I know it would eat my stock air box... 
and I highly doubt the MAC is smog legal.. it should say on their website, or just about anywhere you can buy it.
