Well I just replaced the 5th shock and that wasn;t the noise I have been noticing. It is driving me nuts... its a clicking/knocking sound on the right rear/middle you can hear when turning. I just had all ball joints replaced, shocks are new, sway bar is tight, spare tire is tight, there is something ratteling when I hit just behind the cat conv. with my hand.. something is vibrating inside. Don't think thats it though. You can hear it distinctly from the outside it sounds like sheet metal bumping into the frame. I have traced the exhaust back and its not hitting the fram anywhere. I've taken the calipers off to check and see if they are loose.. which weren't. Any ideas???

I just replaced my entire front suspension on my '97 EB and ended up with the exact same problem. A loud clicking/knocking sort of noise when I turned the steering wheel in either direction.

It turned out to be the driver's side upper control arm, rear bushing. The bolt and alignment washer didn't seat tight enough, so the control arm was actually popping in and out of position with the stress of turning.

Since you say you just had the ball joints replaced, and the uppers are integrated into the control arms, you might check that.

Hope this helps!
