Known problems?

I am very close to returning to a Ford Explorer. I had a '96 that I ran up to over 200,000 (and it took a lot of abuse!). I'm looking at a few '07s - a couple with the v-8 and one with the 6. Thought I'd come here and see if you could give me a heads-up on the known issues that I may encounter? For instance, I've read about timing chain issues? (I've never had a vehicle that - if cared for and not abused - ever required a timing chain be replaced). Any other big ticket items that these are known for? I love the body style and the family-friendly format of the vehicle and am enthusiastic about picking one up!

Welcome to the forum.
Your question has been asked dozens of times so do a search and many threads will come up.
Timing issue is present on the v6's, v8 have their own issues but overall are more reliable.
The rest: radiators, bearings,..... are same for all.

On the v-6, not so much the timing chain but the guides that give up.
