I ordered my Kumho Venture M/T 834s today from Sears, and had the guy call my house before I even got home to tell me the tires are discontinued. What the hell is the deal? The KL71 that apparently is the only M/T Kumho offers anymore is not only ugly as hell, but it's for much larger rims than my 15x8 black steels.

Anyone else heard about the discontinuation? I haven't a clue why they'd do it, the review on the tires are extremely positive, and the prices for them have steadily risen over the past few years. I'm pretty pissed right now, I was set on these tires.

They only have 225/75QR16 anymore.

That sucks, those did look like some nice tires. I was looking at those before i got the killer deal i got on my tires. If you want an inexpensive mud tire that seems to last nicely and does well all around you should check out what i have now. They are an exact replica of the maxxis buckshot mudder but for way cheaper.

Can you link me to your tires?

This really sucks. I've been wanting to lift it and get those tires for 3 years now. The week I'm doing the lift, the tires are discontinued. What ****ty luck.

ill see if i can find a link. But they are nankang mudstar MT's. you can buy them at big o tires, last time i checked they were 120$ for 33's.

Here is a pic of them on my truck.

Alright, thanks.

Just to confirm, I called up Kumho, and the M/T 834s are indeed discontinued. The only M/T they have anymore are those ugly ass KL71 large rim bullshit tires.

sometimes you can find the m/t 834 on ebay. some vendors might have some left.

You sir, are the man. I didnt even think about eBay. I was going to call up local vendors to see if they had any hanging around, but I checked ebay and sure enough, some guy has 34 of them. In the long run it's gonna end up costing me about $50-$60 more than if I got them locally, but hell, I get my tires.

:chug:

I noticed that too. I actually looked at buying some last Saturday, but they said it was discontinued and they only had 3 left in their warehouse..like..wtf were there THREE for? lol I was a little ticked.

Did they give you a reason? I'm gonna call up Kumho again and just see what the reason behind the discontinuation was before i definately grab these tonight.

Called 'em up, noo safety concerns whatsoever with the 834s, they just wanted to head in a different direct with the KL71s.

Gonna pick up the 834s tonight on eBay, then. Thanks again raynr.

Yeah, they never really gave me a reason.. just started showing me other tires lol Good to know there was nothing wrong with em though.

I'm just surprised it didn't occur to me. I'm an eBay *****. :D

Yeah I've spent many a late night hour with ol' eBay. So which size did you end up going with?

I'm gonna order 'em tonight, hadda check with the guy first on the mfg dates. I'm gettin the 33x12.50x15. I was gonna get 4 and buy some used garbage 33 as my emergency spare, but I think I'd be better served going with 5, because should I lose one, it's going to be next to impossible to find the same tire in a few months. I don't wanna drop over $800, blow one out 4-5 months later, and have to ride around on 3 Kumhos and a Firestone or something.

Didn't think about that. Good point.
