Larger MAF and TB

How does this plan sound: I got the exhaust done (will probably get a different muffler tomorrow) so now it's time to bring more air into the engine. I'm thinking a Pro-Flow MAF and high-flow cone filter. Then get an Apten chip calibrated for the MAF. BTW, there's a group buy for these chips in the Group Buy forum. At this point I'll probably wait to see if I want/need the larger TB. The chip won't need to be re-programmed if I get a BBK 66mm TB, right?

Is a 75mm Pro-Flow MAF too much for my application or should I just go with a 70mm unit. The 75's are pretty cheap here: http://store.duratecperformance.com/store/shop.mpl?Cat=2,12,15 Anyone ordered from them? I don't think I've seen them mentioned here.

The chip won't need to be redone for the MAS. But the MAS still will help your 94 since your stock unit is smaller than the later OHV units. But 75 is too much. Get a 70, the TB, and chip, but it doesn't matter in what order you get them unless Brian thinks otherwise.

Oh, I'd get the MAS from Explorer Express.
 






5.0 MAF

I have a 5.0 Explorer and wanted to know what size Mass airflow sensor you thought I should get? I have a K&N pen air filter on it. Exhaust, with hpefully headers and a true dual exhaust coming soon. I will be getting an Apten chip soon and wanted to know about the best size MAS for my X. 75mm? 80mm?
 






75 unless you're gonna supercharge it also. Get a larger TB too, or the MAS won't do much.
 






TB

What do you recommend for the TB? what does that entail? Also, what type of MAS? I know that Apten and Pro-C I think it is, go well together?
 






Alec is probably one of the few on here who would need more than a 70mm MAF :) Check MAF sizing
 






I'd get a ProM MAS from Explorer Express.

I don't know what throttle bodies are available for the 5.0.
 






it's a good idea to have a chip programmed to the MAF flow sheets, but you don't have to. The variance is usually around 5-8% on the transfer function curve.

The TB can be done before or after a chip, it's another one that doesn't make a major difference. I can tweak the TP sensor and ISC for the larger throttle bodies, but

Where is the best place to get a new TB and what should I get for my 5.0L with open air filter and the new 75mm Pro-M MAS I will probably be getting?
