Larger Oil Filter - 07 Limited (4.0) ??

Just changed the oil in mom's exploder and the filter Ford calls for looks just like the old FL1A Motorcraft filter I used on mom's Thunderbird V8 only shorter by 2-3 inches.

I'm a fan of having more oil capacity and more filter and I can't think of any reason this wouldn't work well, can anyone else?

Here's the Motorcraft FL-820s cutaway comparison for those who missed it.
Proven quality for less than five bucks, and still the best bang for the buck, IMO.

4.0 filter

The fl-820s is a good filter but I've switched to using Mahle oc705 filters in my 05 4.0. Direct replacement.
Same size but heavier and oil on the stick looks clearer with good pressure.
