Leaf Springs

Ok i need to very quickly replace my leaf springs on my 1995 Eddie Bauer. I also have to replace the shocks but that is another story. Back to the leaf springs, where can I get the springs for both sides? and What can i expect to pay? I am not looking for the top of the top of the line i don't need that. I just need a set that works that gets me to an from work. Hell OEM would be the best they have lasted this long. Anybody have any ideas?

OEM won't come cheap.
Look on the door label for the leaf code and compare with this.
"U" type springs are $162 a pice. I am not related to them in any way...

Hmm ok thanks for those but how about a bit cheaper? now im not talking paperclip cheep but cheaper so i have some choices on what ill go with.

EDIT: Or get a pair of 1 inch lift springs, they are only $320.00 per pair.

Yes i was thinking the pull pay yard ala the junk yard may be the way to go. And thanks joe doe for reminding me to only get the passenger side ones.

I just overhauled my entire rear suspension due to rot on EVERYTHING, it turned out to not be so bad to get the springs, shackles, and all mounting harware from this company, http://www.autoandtrucksprings.com/...PING_COST_FOR_LEAF_SPRINGS_ONLY-1803-164.html

That is of course if you need shackles, eye bolts, and u bolts. The price of this hardware adds up very quick.

The only thing that i had to do was drill out the pin hole on the spring plates, the pin on these springs is 3/4" which was significantly larger than the stock one.

Also, a little trick I learned from my local dealer. Ford mounts the shackle nuts facing outboard of the frame. Reverse this when you install the new springs. As you kick up road debris, salt this time of year, if builds up on the threads faster when they're outboard. Straight line from the wheels and all.

Could someone explain to me why just the passenger side?

Passenger side because of the gangster lean. Due to the driver and gas tank being on the same side, explorers tend to lean to that side. The drivers side is more saggy from this so you would benefit from having passenger side leafs to create an even tilt for your X

This was exactly what I was looking for. Just to confirm, do I need to replace the leaf springs on this beast? (pics attached) I'm going to install new shocks and struts, but I don't know if the leaf springs need to be replaced as well. Thanks in advance.

Having them re arched is another option

I've heard good things about re arching them , a friend of mine had (custom) leaf springs made at a trailer shop , they charged him 100 per side , and then added an inch of lift over the stock leafs , They Have lasted Him About 100k So Far That i know Of For sure and havent Had Any Problems , The Shop Took A Mono Leaf and Added Stuff To it and Make It The Same As Stock But With an Inch Lift , i was Very Surprised How Cheap It Was , Back In 2005 That is also , good Luck With The Choices !!
