I have a leak that comes and goes. I took it to the local mechanics and they told me it was a leak in the camshaft syncronizer. I do not have any performance problems...nice accelaration...good gas milage...no check engine light...so I assume it's just a failure of the seal (about 20 dollars from motorcraft).
Isn't the Camshaft Sync seal on the top of the engine? Do I have to replace the whole thing or can I get away with just replacing the sensor and the seal?
Any comments and information would really be appreciatated...
I have a 2000 XLS 6 cyc 4 ohv
The location of the Cam Sync would be appreciated...how can I be leaking oil from the bottom if the cam sync is on the top?
