I've searched through several posts and didnt find and answer so I'll just start this thread.

I just rolled over 152,000 a few weeks ago. It runs great, but is leaking a significant amount of coolant. I took it on a trip to Savannah, GA in April. It never leaked before then, but when I got back the leaking started. It wasnt bad as first, but has steadily gotten worse. I have to put almost 2 quarts in every week now. I just topped it off today and drove it for about 10 min. I got back to my apt. and shut the engine off. I looked underneath and, sure enough, coolant is visibly leaking into the parking lot about a drip every 5 sec. It is dripping off the front of the oil pan directly underneath the bottom belt pulley. I'm sure the leak is higher up. Where could it be coming from?

Try cleaning the engine with one of those $2 degreaser. Once its clean and dry. Run the engine and ook for the leak. It should be easier to spot now. If the hole is not that big, you might get away with plugging it with one of those powder stuff that you pour in with the coolant for $5 at Autozone.

i would think its coming from the water pump seep (sp?) hole...

another possibilty is the intake gasket.

sure enough

well, turned out to be a $530 problem. the water pump, water pump gasket, serpintine belt, and thermostat all needed replacing. runs like new now. just a question, how does a water pump wear out?
