leaking cv shaft at axle...pic included

I noticed that on the passenger side front axle is leaking where it meets the CV joint. It also appears to have some movement when shook. I have a feeling I have finally discovered the source of the binding/shuddering noise I here while driving. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to fix this issue?

Also, the leak is not major but I can see residue from what looks like grease has escapes the axle.

Replace the half shaft with a rebuilt unit.

There's also an outer bearing just inside of the axle seal. If you can feel play, that might need to be replaced, too.
