yes thank u! i just read just about every page of haynes looken for what it could be..then it finally dawned on me...its cruise control..and then i check my post..ok thank u..
as far as i know this should be ok to get rid of yes..? :)
i am maken a prerunner..

That's up to you ;) the truck will run without it if that's what you're asking :thumbsup:
 






yes you can remove it, just plug the vacuum line when you do so you dont have a manifold vacuum leak

I doubt a prerunner would keep the stock steering wheel and cruise buttons anyways.

You will also find later when you take yuor dash out the cruise control controller is mounted under there....then you can remove that too
 






sweet i already pulled the dash and tryen to get rid of stuff i dont need..
one other thing under the dash board is a little black box that says do not drop?
any ideas?
 






ah yes thats the solid state intermittant wiper module
I had mine finally go out after 270K miles, it was a ***** to diagnose what the problem was because I did not know that sucker existed until I traced the wires under the dash.

I went to the junk yard and pulled about 8 of them for spares, I plan to keep my BII forever.....
I wouldnt worry about it in a prerunner, my BII has been jumped, dropped, bounced around all over the place and that sucker still worked fine, its just old age that killed mine....
