2002 Ford Explorer XLT
Hi guys,
My 2002 Explorer XLT is leaking in the back. I believe I have narrowed the problem down to the 3rd brakelight at the top of the hatch. I think the gasket is shot and is allowing water to seep in through the middle since the brakelight is slighted bowed. The water then runs down the brakelight power cord/washer fluid cord and into the trim, and then all over my interior.

Can anyone tell me where I might get a replacement gasket for this? Or possible a whole new 3rd light assembly?

The dealer.

One time I had water in the back of mine after a big rain. Never happened since, I think my niece may have spilt water back there. I would say more than likely a dealer would have it, unless you can find one at a salvage yard.

or you can do the ghetto route and put a thin layer of silicone where the gasket is/was and see if that helps. But I would try the junk yard first.. or even rockauto.

Another area that these trucks like to leak is where the rear windshield wiper motor passes through the backglass...mine leaks there...
