I have leather in my Explorer and its caked on for who knows how long. Is there any way to service this and to restore cracked leather? I like practicing detailing in my spare time and I would like to understand how to fix the problem. I personally never had a car that had leather inside of it that I wanted to take care of.

Once the leather is cracked there’s really no fixing it. You can make it more supple by multiple conditionings, and make it last longer.

Give this place a try

I have used it since our 2000 Expedition.

i dont have leather, but ive heard griots leather restorer works a charm. then maintain it with meguiars leather balm. however, as mbrooks420 said, there is no permanent fix other than to get it reupholstered

That product was made for use on RR's. 1st Expy (2K) w/ 80K miles
had seats still soft and supple w/ no flaking. The dealership started
using that product. The 06 was the same.

Current pics of our 08 Edge w/ 185K seats look used some rub off.

I had problems w/ some of the products lifting the sorry finish
off Ford's leather!

What do you think?
