Okay on my BII I just had a 1156 go out on me. The 1156 is the reverse light bulb.

Upon inspection my 1157's (turn and brake) were pretty dirty and I cant remember last time I replaced them.

So I was thinking....maybe I should just replace the trwo reverse lights and the two signal/brake bulbs with those new LED replacements....

Anybody have experience with these? happy, not happy?

I had no idea they were this pricey....

Also they make red and amber but since my stock bulbs are clear, I figure the clear LED's would work just fine...

I have ordered things from these guys before. I like them so far. Great prices and they have good customer service. As to the performance of the backup bulbs, I haven't tried them. I'd be interested in finding out though.

Okay I have done some more research.
It appears as if the aftermarket LED 12v lights (plug in style) are not as bright as stock bulbs. So to me they are not an option.

However some of the trucker style lights are DOT approved and work great day and night.

There are many street scene type cars and trucks showing up with custom made LED converted stock tailights, nothing new, just new LED parts on the market to build with.

The plan is to take the stock tailight lenses apart, (a spare set) and build my own LED tails. The parts I need are a little spendy but I think the whole project can be done for about $100.

good luck man, i wanna see pics if works out. sounds really sweet to me

wahoo post #100
