So I just got my load resistors to put in for my LED tail lights on my 3rd gen. But there are 3 wires going to the bulb, & I'm not sure which ones to tap into.
There's a black wire, brown in the middle, and a brown w/ yellow stripe on the other side.
Does anyonw know which wires I tap into? What's the test I should do? Do I turn on the lights & check polarity, or step on the brake to check it? Am I right in thinking I don't want to tap into the wire for the normal lights, just the one that has power when the brake/ signal is on?
Thanks.

Get a voltmeter and find the ground (continuity test to the body/chassis) - which is where you would put the resistor. If you put it on the positive, the LED might not get enough voltage.

Ok, so looking at the picture, I want the ground, and the wire that turns hot when the brake is applied. Also going by that diagram, it's the two "outside" wires, and I should leave the middle one alone.
Correct?

No. Not necessarily "outside" wires. Just dont hook them to the parking light wires. Only to the brake/blinker wires. You have to determine which wire is which. Use a test light to do that.

Using a light worked great! Got them in & they work perfectly. Thanks for the help!
