Anyone have a part number on this or is it only purchased as part of 00M12 Recall Kit?

Thanks,

TJ

Never mind. I found it. How do I delete this? Mods?

are you installing the 00M12 kit?

Ive done that last year or so. Both hydraulic oil tensioners, both manifold "O-ring" gaskets, oil restrictor (which it already had one).

Reason I was asking is that I just got done replacing the left cassette guide and the jackshaft guide/tensioner (2WD) and Im now getting some upper cassette chain noise still. The left side oil oil tensioner (M0012 kit) is maybe a year or two old like I said. Im guessing it got worn out because of the broken cassette guide (drove it with "minor" rattle for quite a while) and Ive ordered a new one to see if it will put more tension on the guide to quiet the chain down. to make matters worse, Ive replaced the thermostat housing (3rd time btw!) because the damn thing wont seal up around the O-ring. The last one leaked around the seam. What a POS! lol...Other than that its a great engine.

Any ideas why the chain noise may still be present? I didnt replace the chain or the sprocket, just the guide. Everything was torqued properly and the timing is correct so I dont know how I can still be getting chain noise. Its definitely not the rear either as I thought. 5W-30 regular oil like always. Im stumped. I guess I will wait until the new oil tensioner arrives and see if that helps.

I am doing the 00M12 install today (first timer) and have hit a wall. How do you remove the old oil galley?

T-30 I think and a socket extension is what I used. It may very well be stuck in there. Steel bolt into aluminum head causes corrosion. Spray it with PB blaster and take it easy. Dont force it or you will break it/strip it. Mine already had an oil restrictor in there but I replaced it anyways. Helps with start up chatter. I was lucky because mine came out pretty easily. Just make sure you have the correct size T socket or it will strip out and the you will have a bigger problem.

I got the plug out, with no prob. You are correct, T30. How do I get the old restrictor out?

It should just slide in there. Its just a plastic "stick" if you will that helps keep the oil up there. Honestly if its not broken for any reason and theres already one in there, I wouldnt replace it, But since you went through the trouble of taking the bolt out, I think all I did was grab it with something and pull it straight out. It just sits in there.

Thanks bro, used tweezers, but finally got it. Appreciate all the help. :)
