Good afternoon

Story goes i went wheelin a couple days ago and believe i got the tow cable lights ripped off my truck..now my rear left tail light and white, reverse light will not light up. When i hit the stalk left, the green signal inside the cab and front, yellow indicator outside stay on solid (no clicking).right side work fine when asked to do so. I took the good bulb from the right and tried it in the left with no success.

My pic will show what I found

Are the left side, rear lights not grounded right now? Should I pull the black wire from the gray harness and ground it somewhere?

Buy new tow harness and plug it just like it was?

Unplug the tow harness entirely. Plug the two factory plugs back together. The lights should work correctly unless some of the factory wiring was damaged as well.

You should probably get a new tow plug, or you might be able to just get a universal 4-wire flat with a few feet of wire attached, and just splice that into the wires from the old harness.

perhaps going to the junkyard and hacking off that same set up then splicing it in? that should work right?

Why? It looks like the only damage was to the tow plug, which is a removable harness that goes in between the two factory plugs.

Just take out the tow harness, plug the two factory plugs back together, and all should be well.

Is there some damage to the other factory plug that isn't showing in the picture?

If I unplug the two gray harnesses the lights still won't work. I'm not sure what should be plugged into the harness with the red line..the tow harness wires also come out of the white wires there in between the gray harness and black shrink wrap (can't see it, but it does)

there aren't any plugs in there to be put back together

i have no idea what was plugged in where the red line is..

The harness is just an in-between plug as shown above. It goes in-between the two factory plugs.

The plug with the red line, and the other end (dark grey) is plugged into the front factory plug (light grey).

Unplug the dark grey plug from the light grey plug.

Look in the space above the bottle jack for the matching grey rear factory plug.

Plug the two light grey plugs together.

Everything should work.

Anime thank you! I must have not been looking hard enough and didn't see it..I found it, hooked it up and is all good! Woot!
