I'm looking to order a recovery strap with my body lift and am trying to figure out what length to get? Is 20' enough?

That's kinda what I was thinking.. Thanks!

I have a 20' and a 30'.. the 20 is good when things are tight.. But sometimes you need the extra length and 30+ is good.. I haven't "needed" anything longer than a 30ft especially since most of my wheeling ends up to be in canyons etc... but if you deal with Mud etc i could see it helping more often..

IMHO, there's no such thing as too long. You can always double or triple-it up, but you can't stretch a 20-footer to reach the nearest vehicle when it's 30 feet away...

Plus, if you've ever been the one getting towed, when you're staring at the back end of the tow vehicle, 20' doesn't seem like anywhere near enough distance to prevent rear-ending them...

True.. cant' exactly stretch a 20 footer.. and Yes.. when "towing" 20ft is just too close..

I've been on a few runs where people (including me) only had one tow point on that side of the vehicle and the tow hook wasn't big enough to fit both ends in when doubling up let alone enough room to tripple up the strap.

That's one thing (among many)that shackles are used for. You can wrap several lengths of strap through a shackle with only one connection point on the vehicle. The most I've ever needed to do was four lengths on a 30' strap... We were in VERY tight quarters. :)
