I have a '93 explorer sport 2wd and the front coils need to be replaced. If I get the 1 1/2" leveling coils from rough country is that going to make the front higher than the rear? I just want the damn things to clear the 30x9.5's that I'm going to put on there at the end of this month. Also, I looked at the rough country web site and the only leveling coils they had were for a ranger, would those work on my explorer? Thanks for any help.

The Ranger coils will work on your Explorer. Just be sure they are for a 2wd, I dno't know if there is a difference between the 2 and 4wd coils. As for the lift, it should set your Explorer level, providing you aren't carrying a lot of weight (speakers, tools, etc..) in the rear.

The Rough Country coil spacers seems to be the route I want to take...but, what about shock length? Do these spacers cause any issues with shock absorbers? I currently have the RS 5000's for the Rancho 2.5" kit.

Brandon,

Rough Country has what you need. Call the tech line# and ask for Davie. (Don't forget to mention the site) As far as the front sitting higer than the rear it will depend on how much sag your stock springs have. My 91 is 1" lower in the rear. The "leveling" refers to measurements using new vehicle with good springs. After installation I "gained" 3" in the front. This means my stock coils had compressed 1.5" since birth.

Best regards.

Hello Ken,

The Rough Coutry product is a replacement spring that is 1.5" longer than the stock one. This won't work in your application. Do a search for "Coil Spring Spacer" in this forum. There is a bunch of good info on where to buy them and or how to make your own.

Best regards.
