Can any one give me some figures on shock placement....such as how compresed the shocks should be when mounted....also i was planning on using double shocks in the front, i have 4 of the 5100 series Bilstein shocks i plan to use for this..... Is it to much for what i am doing? The full extension of the shock is 13 inch... The full length is 32 inch... If i Used all 4 up front i would buy 2 shocks for the rear but not Bilsteins... To much money right now... My Prerunner Finders should be here in a few days, That should make a big diff..... Pleas Help

You don't need dual shocks -- doing so would make the ride very stiff as you're vehicle is still relatively light.

Hey thanks.... I guess i am just puting one on the front..can any one let me know how compressed the shocks are supose to be when it is sitting level? Pleas help....

How much a shock is compressed differs from vehicle to vehicle -- and the number is dictated by your suspension setup. I would say that most rigs are biased to droop more than compress mainly because the tire often starts rubbing on things at stuff.

The best way to determine where the shock should be is to flex the vehicle and get measurements. From there, you should be able to tell where the shock should be at full compression and where it should be at full droop .. +/- one inch because the suspension will compress/stuff more on the trail than you're typical flex-test.

is that a D30 or a D44?...looks good perhaps loose the running boards?

How can i tell what it is?

Hehe Levi, please refrain from starting new threads if what you're posting about is the same topic as the thread you've already started -- which in this case is your SAS project: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=177452 .

Among other reasons, starting new threads about the same topic makes it difficult for future readers to follow your progress.

I am going to merge this thread with your other thread.
