hey all, I just got an 01 sport, and the lift gate piston (ball joint ends) are broken right off of the body, does anyone know if they sell replacements? I hate to keep using a stick to hold up the gate!:( Thanks in advance.

The studs the shocks attach to? Probably gonna have to weld those on, if you can't TIG weld find a machine shop who can TIG and have them do it. Preferable have a homogenus TIG weld so theres no extra metal to clean up, but not everyone even knows that its possible to weld without a filler metal... sad.

If the shocks are broken, you can buy those at the auto parts store. About $40~50 for both. Only need a flat head screw driver to replace them, and if you're not a body builder a helper will help (that lift gate is HEAVY if you haven't noticed)

Weld the studs? Nope. Drill a hole, bolt in replacements for $3. You will need to pull the inside door panel to access the area to put on the nut. Fixed a few so far with no problems. If you like you can put a flat brace or large washer front and back.
