X's have IRS so no axle to "sripng over". Look around this site. Many people have done body lifts and suspension lifts. I think they are using spacers on top o fall the struts to get the lift.

Here's the scoop. You need to use the search feature and LOOK AT THE STICKIES at the top of this forum. Read, Read, Read. I'll throw up what I can type out in a couple minutes

Explorers have a fully independant front and rear suspension. This makes lifting these truck a bit more complex than lifting your average Heep, ranger, and full-size truck.

You have 2 options:
1) 3" Body Lift. you will keep factory suspension geometery and factory ride. The only change will be due to your change in tires. (All-terrain ride a bit more truck-like, stiffer)
CAUTION: This body lift is designed for a Ranger, you will need a little bit of modification (filing, and buying new bolts) to make it work.

2) Spacer Lift: this lift simple moves your existing struts downwards, you will also ride pretty close to stock. You WILL need a alignment after this lift.
Options are BTF Fabrication and TRUXX. The BTF kit is a direct bolt on.
A 2.25 kit will net you 3.5" of lift due to your suspension geometry.

Here's the install of that lift kit: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=279667

TIRES: you can mount 265/75's (32's) on your stock rims. General consensus is that this is the largest you can push factory rims and backspacing. If you have spacers or aftermarket rims, you can mount 285/75's (33's)

thanks for the info i'm gonna look into the BTF lift... You woulnd'nt happen to have contact info??? thanks again......
