Welcome,

The search button at the top is probably your best bet and there is an entire section devoted to explorer/ranger suspension so maybe check there.

As for buying it there are many sites such as 4wheelparts.com

there is one more that you would be very very lucky to even find for sale is the rcd coilover conversion kit. its 5.5 inches and replaces the torsion bars. sounds great?? heck yeahh... the price....heck no.... and on top of that not that many people have them so its really hard to find.... the mounts alone are super hard to get. but if you get your hands on a kit like that do it.

i am seriously considering switching to coilerovers at the same time i do my superlift.... do they still make the RCD kit? i thought they stopped making it

Nahh they don't sell the kit anymore. Only way to find it is if someone has it and wants to do like an sas or sormthing. Really the most important thing from the kit is the mounts for the coilovers. Cause people use the mounts to put their own coilover setup on their rigs. Problem is that they're hard to find also. Nobody sells them. They have blueprints somewhere on ranger-forums for the mounts. I'm sure if you print those out you can fab them up or get someone to fab them up for you. Go on ranger-forums and you'll see a lot of rangers with a coilover setup with the superlift.

oh good info, i havent been on ranger-forums in a long time, ill have to go see if i can find them. i really wanna go with a coil-over setup when i do the superlift.

i guess if superlift ever stops making the 4" lift all the members on here are just going to have to go in together and start a machine shop and start making our own lift kits hahahaha

Ha yeahh. when I get home ill take a look and ill see if I can find the blueprints and. Ill see if I can get some pics of my mounts. Ask corkey on here too he'll fill ya in

yeah. i think the reason why rcd stopped selling their kit was because of how high the price tag was and how few were actually selling. and having some kind of contract with bilstein im sure isnt cheap but idk the details im just basing it off of my opinion. i think that building them wouldnt be that hard i think its having to do with copyright issues of the blueprints of the original designs that were made and selling them to the public claiming that the mounts were someone elses idea. im pretty sure though it shouldnt be too hard to fab up some mounts, just find the right steel, find someone whos good with a plasma cutter or get them laser cut or maybe water jetted, maybe even machined? and some money and i think your set! but yeah itd be a big molahh maker lol!

ya your probably right. the original design is probably copyrighted and no one else can make/sell them. i still dont see why one of the companies doesnt make stuff like this....they gotta know that their still are plent of people out here that would buy that parts for a DIY lift and conversions and stuff ya, if i had a bigger welder, id be making them left and right lol

ha agreed. you can mix and match parts. rubicon express.com has builder parts that might work for upper mounts, and lower mounts are just 2 mounting tabs on a thick piece of steel.

so if i purchase the summit superlift kit is that everything needed for the lift minus rims and tires?

lookup my thread "coilover conversion" a few threads up describes exactly what you guys are talking about. im in the process of doing the conversion on my x.
