99 XLT 4 Door sohc, 4.0
I have a 99 SOHC 4.0 i was wondering if i could use a 99 ranger lift kit on it. Or if not what the difference is. i also was wondering since i have a L73 axle tag that is the lim slip 373 do i have lim slip in the front or just a open. thank you much jeff

the only way the ranger lift will work is if it is for a ranger edge..if not it will not work b/c the difference is that most ranger kits use a lift spring or a lift spindle and lift spring...the lift spring will not work on an explorer since it has torsion bars nor will the lift spindle since the non edge rangers have a smaller rotor diameter than a stock explorer/edge
 






Your front diff is open. A LS was not an option for the front diff.
 






rear axle is lim slip, front is open, both with 3.73 gears

yeah, what he said...also, explorers and edge model rangers have a different upper balljoint stud diameter, to the spindles aren't interchangeable even with different rotors.
