Photos Lifted Sport Tracs Picture Thread!

LONO100, There used to be an annual Sport Trac meeting/ show/ gathering in Louisville, Kentucky the factory where the Explorer and Sport Trac were made. Sadly I think last year is gonna be the last one since they discontinued the ST. It was HUGE, I was gonna go to the one two years ago but limited funds and an obligation to go to other national shows with my Custom Truck Club (Down2EarthCustoms) I couldn't make, I really regret it.

There's picture and videos on youtube and over on mysporttrac.com. It's awesome to see all the great members and their Trac's together.

heading to youtube now! it sucks that ford is discontinuing the trac. hopefully in a few years it will be reborn. i dont understand why ford doesnt understand that some people prefer a four door midsize truck like the sport trac as opposed to owning a four door f150. i think the 4 door euro ranger would kill it in the US.

People just dont expect to see something like a sport trac lifted. and its just one of those things that just works out great.. I agree with Hugh when he said a sport trac lifted, is one of the best looking trucks out there. I think alot of it has to do with the shape of the body, mainly around the front end, just the way everything is formed. or i could just be crazy, or obsessed.. but thats okay with me. TracLife

just watched the sport trac meet video, wish i was into tracs back then, that looked like fun.

everywhere i go, people trip out over my rig. because i only have one explorer badge (on my tailgate), and my ford emblems are covered up, a lot of them have to ask me what kind of truck i have. when i tell them its an explorer they always say the same thing: "no ****!?" i get compliments about all the time and i always catch other truck guys looking over my rig while im at stop lights and on the freeway. the sport trac is truly a unique ride.

I haven't had as many guys feel the need to demonstrate their awesomenss in their vehicles since I drove my '69 Cougar. Of course, with the Cougar, it's always ricers trying to race. Now everybody in 1/2 ton pickups are speeding away from redlights after eye-ing my truck down. Had an "Xtreme" ride my ass today and then fly around me on a four lane with no traffic. I think he won whatever the competition was, lol.

Most people think my trac is an F-150 because it sits taller then most fullsize trucks. I always get Jeep guys asking me to pull over so they can check my truck out. Hell I had a guy in an extremely modified offroad JK (the thing shouldn't have been street legal in Pa.) almost wreck his truck the other day starring at my truck.

The funny thing is before I bought my trac I always hated these quadcab mini-bed trucks, never even payed attention to the ST before I bought mine, that changed real quick when I read an article about John Rock's Trac in a magazine while on vacation in Ocean City. I wish I would've kept that magazine but I didn't even give it much thought except I knew right then and there I wanted to build this thing up bad ass. I'll have to find the picture/ article I have from the magazine and post it here.

cool post rebel. i remember when i first got on this forum i had just got my trac and i was looking for info on some mods and i remember one of the first posts i read was one that had announced his passing. i never communicated with the guy, but from all of you forum vets, he seemed like real good people. love his trac, that thing is a legend. do you remember what magazine that article was from?

That's the funny thing, it was in some outdoor vacation magazine but I geuss was originally from 4wheeloffroad. This is a picture I took from the magazine so I would remember to look up everything I could about lifting and modding ST's. This is my first IFS'd 4wd I've lifted and didn't have a clue about the suspension (had a lifted '87 S-10 ex-cab 4wd that had a 383 stroker in it for a while but I didn't build that truck). I've always had solid axle trucks like my old '79 IH Scout II that was lifted, locked and unstoppable 'til it met Pa.'s road salt (originally from Wash.) the body was shot in 4 years, gotta love "Rusty Jones" warranty's, lol. You're probably too young to know about that, although being in Ca. there are probably thousands of older cars rolling around out there with it on them since there's no rust out there. Damn I miss living on the West Coast!!!

I remember joining this forum when I got my trac. I also remember talking to John a lot and always hammering him with questions! He was a great guy. He inspired me to take my trac and make it my own. When I got mine it was a hand-me-down and I was kinda displeased with it... but beggers cant be choosers and as soon as I saw his and TXPlate's my attitude took a 180! Im glad it did too.:) Ive had so much fun in mine and can't wait for all that is sure to come

This is the inspiration for me to start lifting and building up my Trac. We miss you John, you were a great guy, you were always there for help, support and guidance. I really regret missing out on the chance to meet you in person.

I miss him also. A fellow IT guy, just like me.

aww, you guys are making me blush haha, thanks. and they ride.. pretty much like a mud tire lol. when you're going real slow (like parking lot speed), you can feel how aggressive they are, but when driving down the highway, they aren't too bad, and dont make as much noise as i was expecting. yes, they do make noise, but my friend with the ranger, has 33" MickeyT MTZ's and they ROAR. like I can hear him slowing down for a turn, miles away. Not as loud as Mud Grapplers, but close. I think alot of that has to do with uneven wear on the front tires. But I like them so far, and I agree about the stock wheels, i love them also lol.

Shooter, you got a photobucket account?

I kept getting emails about those sport trac meets. And truck nationals, are you talking about Carlisle? You going this year?

I might go to Carlisle this year, my custom truck club goes every year to the All truck National's. Since I don't have two vehicles to take anymore I'l probably be able to go this year, missed last year because of funds.
