hey guys, i have a question.
I have a ifs (independint front suspension) on my explorer and I was told that if i were to lift it with the ifs it will put too much tension on everything and might break something. Is it recomended to have a straight axel to lift a explorer like mine? Please post your suggestions. If I lift it as is will anything break or screw anything up. Or should i get a straight axel (although i don't think i would lift it if i have to do that, but you never know)
I was thinking of puting a 4" suspension lift and 33s under it.

Thanks in advance

go for it, i have had my superlift on for about 6 years and had no real problems except for the expected ones.. like having to replace the front driveshaft due to the increase wear on it, the superlift swaybar drop links suck had to make my own, and the other thing i had to replace one of the cv axles( was my fault driving to hard and over extended the front end) easely fixed with limiting straps. but yeah had no problems with anything due to the lift. there are body lifts that will fit to

alright thanks, i think ill do it during the summer. will definately post pics after im done

Search.. Lifting 2nd gens have been discussed.. There are probably more threads on options and the pros & cons.

Explorer sports have IFS?
I thought that was only 3rd gens?
Or Im I thinking about something else?

they have ifs its not a straight axel

Im pretty sure none of the Rangers or Explorers ever have had a solid axle from the factory.
