Well everyone.. I finally did it. I put the explorer up after 2 years of waiting and collecting the parts. So far my friend and I have about 8 hours of work on it. The backend was done in one nite, while the front got mostly done last nite. We've got to refill my diff tonite and bleed the brake lines, and put the lift components of the front sway bar on. Basically thats it. I dont have any "work in progress pictures" but I will have before and after pics for everyone to see. New tires are actually on it right now 33 x 12.5 Bridgestone Dueler w/ ARE Baja 15 X 10s

I wanted to comment on the lift proceedure for everyone who is thinking about doing it. I had access to a blow torch and a welding machine, heavy impact guns and rachets. My friend was a certified GM mechanic (yes I know...we are working on a Ford) and its been a nightmare with the 91'. I say this basically because the weather in this region results in alot of underbody rust. If you're considering a lift ( I used the Superlift 5.5 standard) Go out and look at your vehicle. You'll probably want to reconsider doing it yourself if you do see alot of underbody rust. My front shocks had to be torched off for one example. The rear bolts holding the leaf springs on also had to be heated until they were white to remove them. The front brake line snapped and had to be re flanged.

I think it was well worth the effort, but if you dont have access to the tools and skilled personel that I was able to get...it would have been very difficult if not impossible.

Well, hopefully I'll have pictures up for everyone soon. Gotta run to the store, return my 3" body lift and pickup some PIAA lights instead...need gear oil and brake fluid too.... I think that the AMSOIL gear oils sounds to be the best...especially with the cold weather I get up here.... Thanks all. TTYL
