I want to add a set of driving lightd ( and am open to suggestions as to which ones ) in the slots under the front bumper of my 99.

Has anyone mounted lights there ( I have seen some there )? Please explain the physical mounting details.

Thanks....

I have PIAA 910 driving lhts. in the slot as well as some 959 fogs. I will post some pics tomorrow of how they are mounted.

Al here they are. I used an angle bracket to attach the light to the bumper. There already was a hole in the bumper.

I used a piece of angle iron to run between the two brackets to mount the center lights. Had to shim then w/washers to get the height right.

This is the finished product. 959s on the outside & 910s on the inside.

Hope this helps...

Bill,

Thanks for the info and the pics,

What is involved in the actual attacjment of the light brackets? What do you have to remove, if anything?

Thanks....

Sorry I didnt get back to you sooner. Been on vacation....
The bracket is just bolted to an existing hole in the back side of the bumper just above the oval opening. Nothing to remove.
You can see the bolt head in the first pix.
Did you decide on a pair of lights yet?

Al, I did basically the same thing that Bill did, but with a set of PIAA 1500s. I used a length of angle aluminum to go all the way across the bumper to both holes that Bill is talking about. It's really strong, won't rust and holds the lights rigth in the center of the bumper opening (if you can get the holes drilled right). Here's how mine looks:

The way that Bill and I did it might not work for you. Does your bumper on your 99 even look like ours?
