light problems galore

hey guys I recently have had an array of electrical problems that maybe someone could offer some advice about.
First of all my turn signals went out, front and back. At the same time I lost my brake lights with exception of the third light up top. The weird thing was hazard lights worked up front, but nothing in back.
Now recently my low beam headlights went out; highbeams, tailights, and reverse lights work fine. I have checked interior fuses and they are fine. It is my understanding that on some models if one light goes out all go out. I have not yet checked this but was wondering if there is a way to check if a bulb is good without replacing it. Any help would be greeaatly appreciated, as driving without turnsignals and breaklights can be dangerous

Just loo at the bulb, if it is burnt it will be burnt on the glass , you will know. On my TBIRD when the left rear blinker went out the brake light went out on the left because it is the same bulb also the 3rd brake light on the right side went out but after I replaced the Turn signal the 3rd brake light came back on.

The first place I'd start looking is in the turn signal switch. The brake lights are canceled through the turn switch, so if it is bad they won't work, although the third brake light will because it is not effected by the turn switch. Your low beam problem may be in the dimmer switch, but from the sound of it, I would get under the dash and start looking for some busted wires. It is possible that the wire harness from the steering column is either rubbing something or is being pinched and has started cutting through the wires.

sounds to me like you have a bad "head light switch"...or from what you decribe it sounds like the $hiT my truck did when my switch was bad.

take the head light switch out, if you have a HAYNES manual it will be easy as PIE.....and look at the connectors on the back of it...if there are burnt or brown spots on it, then the switch is most likely bad. they are like 24 at ford if my memory serves me right.
and it takes like 15 mins to replace it.
