Does anyone know how the stock rear dvd player is wired in a lincoln navigator (04)? You can control volume, menu selection and skip tracks from the stock head unit, but Im wondering if there is a video line to the back of the stock unit. My brother is looking at purchasing the same unit I just installed but we need to know if there is a video line run to the back of the stock unit or is it just a wire harness?
The rear unit is a stand alone and the dvd is put in at the screen.

Thanks

I believe its an entire harness...not totally sure though. I've got an 04 explorer with the rear seat dvd, I asked a similar question a week or two ago, got no replies. I'm not sure there's a lot of knowledge on here regarding stock DVD systems since its an add on. Have you looked into a Chiltons/Haynes manual?

for an '04 ex with factory DVD, there is a 16wire harness in the back of the radio that runs to the DVD player. It the big square plug on the radio that runs to another plug in the passenger kick panel, then along the floor to a big green plug near the top of the 'c' pillar then to the DVD. With mine the rear can control the radio and has a few options. Unless it came with the DVD player it probably doesn't have the harness.

yeah thats the problem we were running into. Was hoping to direct wire the rear stock dvd player to a video out on a new dvd in dash unit, but it sounds like its a wire harness rather than any type of video wire.
