I have a 1997 explorer 2wd 4.0L sohc automatic. I had to drop the transmission pan since I had a leaking gasket so I went ahead and changed the filter and fluid. I found 6 or 7 small metal disks in the pan. Does anyone know where those came from and do I have a problem since they were in the pan and not where they are supposed to be? I did not have any transmission problems prior to dropping the pan.

Thanks

they are spacers for the gasket, look in the old gasket for the holes they came out of,

thanks..you are correct, I didnt look at the old gasket at all. My new gasket from autozone does not have them, do you think that is ok?
