Location of catalytic converter on 98 Ford Explorer

I am having the exhaust pipe replaced & was wanting to know how close to the front of the vehicle the catalytic converter is.

There are multiple cats... Depends on which engine...

On the SOHC V6 there are 2 cats. They are right next to each other under where the engine connects to the transmission. Poke your head under the front of your truck you cant miss them.
