I recently purchases a used 2014 Explorer. Unfortunately, I forgot to reprogram the keyless entry code to something I can remember, and do not know what it is (it's in the owner's book), and of course I have managed to lock the key inside!

Will Ford have the entry code on file and share it with me if I properly identify myself and the car?

Is there any other way to get in without ruining something?

Have you tried the front drivers door handle. My 2016 will unlock when I put my hand on it, unless I have used the keypad to lock the car. If you have AAA, give them a call, if not, you are sunk, I believe. If it were me, and I knew that there was going to be a big expense in getting back into the car, I would break the rear door window to gain access. The glass will be about $100 to replace, and it might be the fastest way to get into the car. On my 2016, you can't lock the keys inside, unless you use the keypad to lock the car, so are you certain that the keys are inside? Before you do anything, look for the key, and if that fails, call a Ford dealer and ask for advise. Better hurry, because a lot are closing early for Christmas.

Go to a Ford dealer's service/parts department, give them your VIN number (and have registration handy) and they should be able to give you the keyless PIN.

Thanks. I went the AAA route and was amazed at how quickly they responded (5 minutes by phone and 1 hour to be here on Christmas Eve day) and how easily the guy pried open the top of the door with an inflator (like a blood pressure cuff) just enough so he could insert an aluminum rod and tap the unlock button. It took about 1 minute!

Thanks, but Ford dealer closed. Christmas Eve day. So, I went the AAA route. See previous response. But i appreciate your suggestion. Merry Christmas!

I forgot about that method. I saw that done at a rental place at the airport. Fellow said that people lock the keys in the car all the time. They used a plastic wedge. So much for cars being harder to steal now days.
