No, most cars do not have locking gas doors these days. They went through a phase in the 90s and early 2000s where a lot of cars had them but a lot of the automakers kind of got over it.
Guess I just haven't been around most new cars. My Infinity has one, BMW 328 my daughter's boyfriend owns has one, Saturn I had had one. Don't have many new cars, I tend to keep them for a decade or more.

I didn't think any of the new Explorers have locking doors. If so, swapping it out would be a good option. I'm stopping by the dealer today and I'll find out. I'm guessing this is not much of an issue but it's good to have options!
The 21 and 22 hybrid limited and prem models have a inside fuel door button to push to open the fuel door.

Unfortunately, it does not lock at all. All one has to do to open the fuel filler door is push on it.

Peter
The 21 and 22 limited and prem hybrid are the unit models that have a special button to unlock the fuel door . I have a limited hybrid and we have a special button to open the fuel door

Locking fuel doors or gas caps will be important again as gas prices soar. It's happened before, when gas prices are relatively low, it's not a big worry that someone will steal gas.

They don't. None of the 5th or 6th gen Explorers have locking fuel filler doors. Neither does my Aviator.

Peter
Krazy glue makes for an amazing single-use lock on my 5th gen. I just buy a new car every time I run out of gas. Easy peasy.

The area where I live has some real troublemakers who would probably think it was fun to put sugar or weird stuff in the gas tank so I wanted to make sure I am not a victim. The Ford accessories website only has locking fuel plugs for 2019 and older. Autozone and others also say theirs don't work either. Has anyone tried to get one for the 6th gen EX yet?
At over $6.00/gal. here in CA, thieves don't care if you have a locking gas cap; they'll just drill a hole in your gas tank, especially if you have a high SUV.
