'98 Explorer Sport
I recently got a '98 Explorer Sport that I'm wanting to do the exhaust on but don't know which way to go. I already bought the FlowMaster 50 SUV series. I want a deep, not too loud tone but I would also like to gain some horsepower and torque. I was thinking of removing both cats (they're bad, blah, blah) but would I loose too much back pressure? If so, would an X or H pipe correct this? If I went to a single high flow cat, what would I do with the second O2 sensor? Should I add an X or H pipe to this? What would happen to a setup if I added headers to it? I don't want to go dual as I'll be doing plenty of trail riding and don't feel like expensive exhaust repairs. I have only added an intake and 66mm throttle body to this motor. What do you guys suggest?
Thanx.

Dont' remove the cats! I'm no expert, but when I ran a dual in/single out muffler it noticed performance gains, it gave a throaty, but not absurd tone. You could always get another muffler and go true dual :D

mike, you ran just the muffler?
