longer wheelbase

I want to trade up from a '94 explorer ltd. to the first year model which had the longer and wider wheelbase. In searching through ntrprize/spec, it looks like the wheelbase went from 111.6" to 113.7" from the '00 model to the '02 model. The '01 model information is missing. I was wondering if anyone knew what the '01 model wheelbase was. Also any input as to the difference in ride between the older and newer year models and when that changed would be helpful. The '94 I have now is pretty rough riding so I want to get one that rides better if possible. Thanks, Bill

The '00 and the '01 have the same wheelbase.

The difference between your 94 I-beam and solid axle suspension and an '02+ with IFS and IRS will be night and day difference.
