Hello

I am looking to buy some tow hooks for my 2005 Exploder (yes the spelling is correct) and I am not sure where I should be buying them from. some advice would be great. I have the work shop manual for it and I am sure that there is some reference material that I can work with in there for bolt sises and such.

I bought mine on Ebay for $30. Seller included the factory hardware. They were listed as fitting '98-'02 F-150 and Expedition. I used the included bolts and bought nuts and lock washers at Home Depot. There's a thread on here with pics for installing them.

Rkh58 I agree, except I got mine off an F150 at the salvage yard with the bolts and brackets. All you do is remove the plastic fillers then loosen the front bumper one side at a time, and slide the brackets inside the frame then bolt the hooks on. I think they charged 15 bucks. Get the brackets they really make it easy.

The salvage yards around me aren't you pull-it and they act like you're bothering them when you're looking for something inexpensive. So they quote you a ridiculous price or just say they don't have any. The only you pull-it yards are about 35 miles away, so adding in gas and time, the money was about the same. I did get the brackets and bolts with mine. I just found it easier to use the nuts I bought with the bolts that came with the hooks. I just slipped the nuts up in frame and held them with a cheap wrench that I bent slightly in a vise. The whole install took about 15-20 minutes.
