well the best i think u can do with ur stock suspension is to put bigger springs in ur struts.
I went with 2-inch lifted springs on the front and it gave me a pretty close-to-level look. the most u could probably squeeze into a strut from and explorer would be a 3 inch lifted spring. if u tried more, ur coils may touch each other since they can only expand so much in a strut.
wheel travel hasnt been that big of an issue for me, as far as i have been able to tell. it doesnt seem much stiffer and it still has a decent amount of bounce, but keep in mind these are 2-inch lifted in the front only
if u go to www.coilsprings.com then these guys can actually make u a custom coil spring from the OEM number tag on ur original factory coil. request a quote on the site where it says at the bottom "custom cars" and then call and ask them to track your quote. they will give u a full price for production and shipping
these guys definetaly kno wut theyre doing and i would strongly suggest this for a max 3-inch lift.
