As of now i have an 05 sporttrac which im looking to modify.

Any suggestions on:

Lift kits
Tire sizes
After market drive shaft
Air in take systems
Exhaust systems
Rear gears- (i plan on doing a little of everything with it from field hoppin to family vaca's so would i need to put higher or lower gears in it or just leave it)
Winches
Light Bars
Brush guard

Which are the most bang for the buck or most reliable and durable

Thanks !!

I'll slide this over to the Sport Trac forum.

how much are you wanting to lift it? is it 4 wheel drive?

Lift kits: Performance Accessories 3" Body Lift, 1.5" Torsion Twist, Shackle lift
Tire sizes: 35x12.5
After market drive shaft: Yes
Air in take systems: No
Exhaust systems: Dynomax Super Turbo
Rear gears- (i plan on doing a little of everything with it from field hoppin to family vaca's so would i need to put higher or lower gears in it or just leave it): We don't even know what gears you have now. 4.56 suggested
Winches: Definitely, and plural winches sounds awesome, good idea!
Light Bars: Sure
Brush guard: Westin Sportsman

Sorry, still new to the forum...

I've seen suspension lifts for up to 2k, yes its 4 wheel dr.

Thanks for all the pointers

Don't bother with the Superlift unless you're only going for looks. You're in PA, so I don't think you'd get a whole lot of use out of the Dixon Bros kit, and that's a good bit more expensive.

I agree with OffTrac. I just did my '05, and was leaning toward the Superlift, but then I found out it doesn't give you any more clearance and it will mess up your drive shaft because of the angle it puts it at. For the $2K kit cost and then the cost of install it really isn't worth it. I went with the Performance Accessories body lift and threw some Warrior Shackles on the back. You can find the kit for about $300 and I found someone that put it on for me for $700. I fit 33x12.50's now on 16in wheels. When you are looking for them Backspace and Offset will drive you crazy, but if you read through some of the threads you can pretty much figure it out. Or just ask if you are wondering if a certain one will fit. Gears really depend on what your truck has stock. You can find out from a code on the drivers door sticker. I have 4.10's and they seem to be ok with the 33's. Haven't really noticed much of a loss in power. Make sure to give us pics when your done!

Most of us go the cheap route because it's better in the long run.

In the first two picture's I have a 1.75" Torsion Twist, Warrior Products lift shackles, 3" Performance Accessories body lift, 285/75/16 on the stock wheels and 1.5" wheelspacers. It's sitting next to a stock ST at Carlisle All Truck National's back in '09.

In thes pictures I have the same lift but with 15x8 Cragar Soft 8's and 33x12.50x15 tires. The truck actually lost about an inch of it's lift because I need to install the longer torsion bar bolts and get new leafsprings as these are worn out badly form offroading, towing, etc... but it still sits higher then most fullsize trucks.

Pro Comp 1069 and 1089 wheels have the least backspace I've seen on a 16x8 at 4".
