Loose steering /front end?

I do not have any strange tire wear, but my steering feels very loose. What should I look at to tighten my 94 ranger up?

...i would start the truck up and have someone abruptly turn the wheel between 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock back and forth while i looked at the steering linkage....starting at the drop pitman, and making sure it moves with the rack exactly at the same speed with no slop....this will get you started...
