Anybody ever had any problems with disappearing oil? My check oil light came on this morning so I checked my levels. Oil was really really low. So, I added a quart in and went to the links to play a round. Got back around 1 and checked my levels again. This time I had too much oil in the pan! I don't know whats goin on. My X is running in excellent condition. Anybody ever had a case of phantom oil?

Does the oil appear to be foamy?

How about your coolant? Is that normal?

If you checked your oil right after you just started it, then it read low on the dipstick. So by you adding oil it over filled it. The reason your check oil light came on was probably because you parked on an angle and oil in the pan let the sensor get dry and it can take a few minutes on a level surface before the sensor gets oil on it again. The light came on me today when I parked the truck at an angle to pull a guy out of a ditch and startled me at first, so I checked my oil and it was fine, so I figured it was a bad sensor but turns out after I let it sit, bingo!
