Hey Guys:

I got hurt the other day and was flown to a city hospital trauma center. But during the entire confusion I lost my key's to my explorer 2007 XLT.

What do I do to get a new one made? I dont have another set. Can I take my registration and proof to a dealership to get a new one made?

Yeah they are the only ones that can give you a new set of keys and FOBs (the keyless entry).

Be aware of the high price though! $$$ !!

So if I bring them my registration and prove that its my car; I can get a new set of keys sometime tommorow?

I'm not sure exactly what's required, I'd call them beforehand.

Another option which would work (at least it will here in NJ). AAA PLUS covers up to I believe it's $150 to replace lost keys. I do towing and road service for a living, and I know that my local AAA contractor locksmith can do our transponder keys on site, significantly lower than dealer price, If you or someone you know is covered. Not going to help with new remote fob however.

Have a locksmith come out to where you are. Some have the portable tools to program on the spot and cut a new key. Otherwise you will need to tow it to a dealership. Without any keys you need to hook up to the cars computer to reprogram new keys. Keys are not pre programed.

By the way, I hope you are recovering well from your injury.
