loud noises

Yestrday, i was offroading my newly lifted ex (TT/AAL/Shackles) and when i went to turn around at a spot, i kept hearing a loud popping sound. Kinda like the sound when you engage your 4wd except louder. I was in 4 lo, and the ground was sorta hard, which is making me wonder if the loud popping was due to that. It didnt make the sound when i was going straight, only when i was turning fairly sharp. I hope i didnt hurt anything. Could my TT have anything to do with it? Any help would be appreciated. I know that there are always "offroad sounds" but this one worried me a bit. It happened a few times while making a 7 point turn on the trail. Thanks.

The sound was caused by the 4x4. You really should not drive in 4x4 on hard,flat and dry surfaces. 4x4 low will sound even worse. I doubt it had anything to do with the TT,AAL . Just avoid sharp turns when wheeling.
When you make a turn the wheel on the outside rotates at a higher speed then the inside. When locked in 4x4 the wheels try to spin at the same speed which is not very condusive to turning and causes the binding sound you heard.

thanks, thats what i thought, i had just come out of a pit and didnt think about it. i switched back to 2wd right after the sounds. Thanks for the help. I need to practice my 4wd switching techniques
