Alright well im up in New York this week, and they had a little bit of snow so i went out having some fun. Found lots of little roads and trails that go off road. Was having a blast till i drove into a lot of mud. Got stuck for about 35 minutes but managed to get out with lots of sticks and logs. The mud was up to my door! The frame and both axles were practically sitting in it. So id say i was in a good 1-2 feet of mud. It was a blast for the most part! Anyway as the day went on i started hearing some noises from both front wheels. Today i took the truck up to a wash and powerwashed the whole undercarriage pretty well hoping it was just some mud stuck in parts of the suspension. Well after that its still making the noises. Almost like the front brakes are dragging.

Only problem is i cant really work on my truck until i get home sunday.

Im hoping its not the bearings but i have a bad feeling i got some mud in there. Is this going to be too dangerous to drive from New York to Virginia like that?

Going at high speeds you can still hear it but its not so much of a scraping/squealing sound its more of just a loud wind blowing noise. Hard to explain.

Maybe its rocks/dirt between the pad and rotor i havent a clue.

Tell me what you guys think.

Thanks

If you got crap in the bearings they need to be replaced before any long HW trip. You could overheat them & cause them to fail & crack the rotors or do serious other damage. You should check them at least & slap some grease on them. If you can't do this then just drive careful & not fast. Check them as soon as you can.

Thanks for the reply. I got out there this morning and got both front wheels off. It was only rocks and mud stuck between the backing plate and the rotor and the caliper and rotor. Knocked it all out and the sound is gone!

Im glad the bearings didnt get touched, thanks.
