- 2000 XLT V8
I'm currently having an issue with a high pitch squeel coming from under the hood. I have changed the belt and it still makes the high pitch noise. I just recently went over 100,000 miles. My 2000 Ford Explorer XLT has a V8 engine...I can't find any serious vibrations coming from any of the points where pullys are located on the engine. I know the bearings are all internal so it's difficult to pinpoint the culprit...which one of these usually goes first? or is this even a pully making the sound? It usually makes the noise right after cranking but stops after about 15 minutes of running...please help I live in Mississippi and I'm about to move to Tampa FL I can't afford to end up on the side of the road. Thanks
