2004 Ford Explorer V8, 95000 miles New battery in 5/09. If my vehicle sits for 2 days, regardless of weather conditions, it will not start...completely dead & have to jump start. Began having occasional minimal transmission slippage last fall, Ford told me not to worry about it unless my light came on...I prefer to fix things promptly, not wait until something completely goes! Someone told me if your battery is bad it could cause problems with the transmission. Went to the Ford garage, told me my battery was fine. Went to the battery store, they told me it was low & needed recharged. Someone else told me the alternator may be going bad. Where do I begin? Is it time to trade or do you think there is a simple fix? :(
