It could be a possibility that the wiring is rubbed through at the oil filter splash shield. There are many diffferent symptoms depending on which wires are rubbed through.

Due to timing constraints, I hung my head in shame and brought the vehicle in to a shop. They diagnosed it as the starter.....

also in that post, the 3rd picture down is the little wire that black tab one that goes to the starter that sometimes brakes.
